This year will mark the 40th anniversary of the Earth Day and will be filled with campaigns and activities around the globe. I for one will participate this year, and have actually decided to make the whole weekend an Earth Weekend. Today is oficially the first day of summer in Iceland, so we have lots of fun outdoor activities for kids and their families. This weekend, I intend to use my bike instead of the car, teach my son about recycling and waste reduction, and take nature walks with a few of the younger family members, exploring the wild life of Reykjavik and it´s surroundings. I´ll be sure to post some pictures showing our activities in my blog post next week and on fafu´s Facebook page. So stay tuned for more.
In the meantime, here are some ideas for fun stuff to do to celebrate Earth Day: http://www.inhabitots.com/2010/04/22/7-ways-to-celebrate-earth-day-with-your-family/
